The Wall Street Journal reported that Comcast and Live Nation today announced that the amphitheater, formerly called the Comcast Center, has been renamed the Xfinity Center, effective today, December 11, 2013.

The renaming of the venue reflects the Xfinity brand's strong awareness and resonance with consumers. "Live Nation and Comcast have developed a strong and rewarding relationship, and we are delighted to continue our alliance through 2017," said Don Law, president of Live Nation New England.

"We look forward to working with Comcast to make the newly rebranded Xfinity Center an entertainment destination for people across the greater Boston region and beyond." The 2014 season will be the venue's 29(th) year of world class live music concert events. Artists such as Jimmy Buffet, Dave Matthews Band, Coldplay, One Direction and Boston's own Aerosmith have graced the stage at the Xfinity Center.

Rock-n-Romp - A Rock and Roll Show for the Fam

Rock on kids...rock on. Presented by Boston Bowery and Girl Friday Industries.

Got kids? Love music? Then Rock-n-Romp is for you. Started in the Washington D.C. Rock-n-Romp is "a family friendly concert series showcasing fantastic local-area musicians and bands. Shows are held during the day in a relaxed, kid-safe environment. The volume might be low, but the music is designed for parents and kids both in mind. Kids enjoy the music, dance, or just enjoy the other activities available to them, and parents get the ever-so-rare opportunity to listen to great live music and enjoy a beer with other parents. Romps give parents who miss that aspect of their social life a chance to get out, enjoy some music that might be new to them, and expose their kids to great bands in a safe, friendly environment.

Head to The Sinclair in Cambridge on Saturday December 7th 11:30a for performances by  Tallahassee and The Susan Constant. See full event details on the official Facebook event page.

#BandcampRoulette

Philadelphia punk band, Scarier Area, may have broken up in 2011, but they still rock. Specifically at 9am while I sat in the parking lot, refusing to leave my car until I found out who made such wonderful noise on the radio. You can now find Nick in The Great Explainer (Chunksaah Records) and Jeff in The Holy Mess (Red Scare).
