Show Review - Bishop And Rook Presents The Offseason Stripped Down and Keeping it Classy

The Offseason at Sound Lion 1.30.15 through the eyes of sketch artist Louis Roe.

Third time was the charm for The Offseason as their first two gigs of the week were snowed out by blizzard conditions.

Despite limited parking, bitter cold temperatures and a flat tire, Bishop And Rook and Boston Scene Party were able to throw a fairly excellent in-store performance with the pop punk band at Sound Lion Stores in Harvard Square on Friday, January 30th.

The free show, part of the Boston Scene Party residency at Sound Lion, was the finale to a month-long marketing campaign for the music blog and band.

In attendance were friends, fans, music-bloggers, strangers walking in off the streets of Harvard Square and local sketch artist Louis Roe of Squishy Sandwich Art. Complimentary beer was supplied by our friends at Narragansett.

“[We] need more scenes like this one," said show attendee, Vekonda L. "Reminds me of my time in Brooklyn; beers and shows inside stores everywhere. The Offseason was great last night. Will see you guys again. Thanks for the night."

Along with fan favorites from their previous two records, Pride and Progress/Goin’ For Broke and Pasttimes, and new jams off of their latest split 10”, The Offseason delighted the audience with a spot on cover of "If You Don't, Don't" by Jimmy Eat World.
