Bishop And Rook is proud to announce the 2nd Annual Punk N Roll BBQ and Fundraiser!

Local boutique label, Ocelot Records (formally Boston Bloghead), will continue the trend of all-day punk rock music and good food at Allston’s O’Brien’s Pub Sunday, August 3rd with performances by The Down and Outs, Zip-Tie Handcuffs, A Minor Revolution, Dead Cats Dead Rats and more.

All proceeds from this year’s festivities will go to Rawkstars Inc., a Massachusetts based nonprofit that creates and sustains programs that develop life skills through discovery, education, creation and participation in music.

"When the idea for the fundraiser came to mind, I was looking for an organization that fit a few key categories: giving assistance to kids, locality to greater Boston, and of course, music,” Ocelot Records founder Steve Knowles tells Bishop And Rook. “Rawkstars Inc.’s Executive Director, Jonathan Jacobs, and I spoke at length about the organization, their mission statement and goals. Rawkstars goes a step further than many music based charities, not only providing instruments, but also lessons and transportation if needed. I knew after that conversation that Rawkstars was the company I wanted to work with."

Ticket price is $16 in advanced / $20 at the door, and includes admission to the show, barbeque and "Punk N Roll BBQ Compilation Volume 1" CD featuring participating local bands (while supplies last). Save a few bucks and purchase advanced tickets now. The compilation CD can also be purchased separately on Bandcamp, all proceeds go toward Rawkstars.

In addition to great food and awesome music, the 2014 Punk N Roll BBQ will feature a lush raffle full of prizes donated by generous sponsors including a gift certificate from Eridanos Tattoo & Art Gallery, A Narragansett Brewing Company gift pack, photography package from Sam Dahlstedt Photography, album mastering time from New Alliance East Mastering and Devotion Recording and more.
