Boston Does Christmas - Local Bands Release Christmas Songs

The Field Effect is offering a free download of their "Blue Christmas" track.

Riding high from winning the Boston Music Award for song of the year with "Ogunquit, ME" off their their 2012 LP, Cartography, The Field Effect are offering a free download of their take on Elvis's "Blue Christmas" on Bandcamp.com. The Field Effect will be playing alongside Mellow Bravo, Tallahassee and Cask Mouse at the Sinclair in Harvard Square on December 21st.

New Hampshire rock and rollers The Connection apparently love Christmas and have been releasing seasonal jingles for the past few years. You can purchase the 2011 Rock N Roll Christmas EP featuring their cover of The Ramones' "Merry Christmas (I Don't Want to Fight Tonight)", and the 2013 single "It's Christmas Time Again" for $1 each on Bandcamp.com. Singer / songwriter Eldridge Rodriguez has re-released his EP Christmas on the Allston – Brighton Line on Midriff Records with a limited time free download now until December 20th. Eldridge and band are scheduled to play New Year's Eve at Radio in Somerville with The Daily Pravda and Ruby Rose Fox.
