Rebuilder's 'Rock & Roll In America' release show - April 3rd at O'Brien's Pub, Allston

In celebration of their upcoming debut full-length album ‘Rock & Roll In America’, Rebuilder (Panic State Records) is scheduled to play their record release show at O’Brien’s Pub in Allston on Friday, April 3rd. We’re keeping it local and celebrating the immense talent of the Boston music scene by featuring post-hardcore band Choke Up (Black Numbers Records), Somerville indie punk outfit Bundles and kitschy ‘spaceman looping artist’ Sundog, along with special guest DJ Mateo Williams of WMBR 88.1 FM’s Late Risers Club (MIT) who will be spinning vinyl records of the punk variety in-between sets. The event is presented by Bishop & Rook Music Blog, is 21+, $8 and doors are at 8pm. Advanced ticket link available here. Get additional details via the official Facebook event page.

REBUILDER

2014 Rock ‘n’ Roll Rumble participant and Boston Music Award nominee for ‘Punk Artist of the Year’, Rebuilder rips open the preconceived stitches of punk rock to deliver their expansive, mature, and complex sophomore album, “Rock & Roll In America”. Their debut full-length on Panic State Records, “RNRIA” reinvents the self-proclaimed gnarly rock band’s sonic footprint, transcending the traditional three chord punk progression and showcasing the evolution of the band’s collaborative writing styles. Passionate, stirring and with a ‘never say die’ attitude in the same vein as Frank Turner or Against Me, Rebuilder’s live shows are packed with the resilient emotion of DIY music inspired by the honest truth, the instinctual reaction and the second wind that holds you back from the brink of exhaustion. Rebuilder hit the scene in 2013 and has opened for acts such as The Dropkick Murphys, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, The Dead Milkmen and Stiff Little Fingers. ‘Rock & Roll In America’ was recorded, mixed and mastered by Jay Maas of Defeater at Getaway Recording Studios in Haverhill, MA.

Choke Up is well-polished post-hardcore at its most sophisticated level. The type of punk you listen to with a cigar and a brandy snifter. Having recently debuted their first full-length “Black Coffee, Bad Habits” (Black Numbers) to a sold out release show at O’Brien’s Pub, the band continuously raises the creative bar by utilizing their original style and outside elements as a springboard to constitute passionate and emotional music; producing the most beautiful punk rock we’ve heard in a long time.

Emerging from just below the radar at an accelerated pace, Somerville indie rock outfit, Bundles, has hit the scene strong with their 2014 debut self-titled EP. With lyrics so intensely fanatical that they're sung at a partially inaudible level, Bundles mirrors the feverish and desperate pleas of The Lawrence Arms. Painting a picture of a habitually plagued protagonist and representing the underdog endeavor with energetic and infectious live shows.

Sundog entered into Earth's atmosphere on a routine reconnaissance mission, hoping to learn more from the inhabitants of the Blue Planet. Landing in a bayou outside of Nouve Orleans, he found himself marooned. After nearly dying from the harsh conditions of the planet’s solar and gaseous makeup, he resigned himself to wandering America in his spacesuit. After a time, he realized that his music brought people together, and so the journey began. A New Orleans transplant, Sundog now resides in the Boston area and is a multi-instrumentalist and live looping songwriter currently promoting his 2014 LP “Space Criminal”. Using samplers, drum pads, bass, ukulele and vocals, this one-man-show makes songs from scratch on stage with a looping pedal.
