M.G. Lederman Has a Story to Tell With 'I'm Ghosts'

M.G. Lederman's I'm Ghosts record release show happens February 19 at TT the Bear's.

Driven by penetrating piano chords and gruff vocals, M.G. Lederman’s I’m Ghosts (Midriff Records) is a composition of confessions and memories, injected with wry humor, resulting in a seemingly hopeless narrative by way of Tom Waits fashion.

I’m Ghosts is the second full-length album from M.G. Lederman and advances the initial groundwork laid with the band’s 2010 debut, What Ifs and Bad Memories, achieving an emotionally relatable and esthetically pleasing sound.

The trio of piano, guitar and drums that comprises M.G. Lederman, while initially conceived as a vehicle for Mel Lederman’s (fr. Victory at Sea (MA), Thalia Zedek Band) solo songwriting output, has grown and developed into a band in its own right, with a signature sound. I’m Ghosts features guest performances by Thalia Zedek, Sarah Borges, Ian Adams and Paul Janovitz.

I’m Ghosts will be available for purchase on February 25th at Itunes, Amazon, The Midriff Records Online Store or where ever you purchase your digital music. Stream the entire record at now and head to TT the Bear’s in Central Square, Cambridge on February 19th for M.G. Lederman’s record release show featuring The Rationales, Reindeer and Thick Wilde.

Follow M.G. Lederman on Facebook and Twitter for additional show dates and release information. Midriff Records is a boutique label formed by and currently run by members of Boston's The Beatings and specializes in releasing albums by artists who are sincere in their art often in spite of current trends and fads of the music landscape or what sound popular taste makers are currently championing.
