What do you do when you need an accessory, but you don't have any money? Do it yourself! (as best you can, I know my limitations). Our 4th wedding of the year was a Cancun-inspired event and I wanted to rock a hair rose. I used an old shirt and a whole lot of "I think this looks right" guessing to create my hair accessory.

Guess who's turning 1??? In honor of (
keeping my cat alive
for a year) Pinkerton's 1st birthday, I'm making Strawberry Basil
Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Frosting.
A few things:
- This recipe is for humans only
- Sorry for the blurry pictures, I have an Android
- Your kitchen will smell like strawberries

With denim jackets making a huge comeback this summer, it's not surprising to see a resurgence of studded items all over Pinterest and Tumblr. What are your opinions on these shiny punk rock accessories? Are the 1990's calling your name or are you shoving them back into the closet?

Although some people think gift cards are not personal enough, I disagree. As a caffeine addict and reoccurring broke person, I would love a lifetime supply of coffee cards. You just need to get a little creative in order to turn plastic money into a custom gift. One of my favorite DIY presents for summer birthdays is the Baileys Coffee Gift.

Last minute barbeques are typical in the summer. Don't let these pop up cookouts catch you off guard and make you an empty handed party goer. My favorite 'Never Fail Chocolate Chip Cookies' recipe takes 30 minutes and is Greek AND Spanish grandma approved! Do you think Martha can say that?

I'm not great at math but I do know that (humidity + hair = hot mess), so I'm always searching for ways to look at least slightly put together during the hot summer months. With the 50's style being a strong influence this season, hair scarves are a stylish option.

If former WFNX DJ Julie Kramer has taught me anything, it's that coffee is a very necessary part of your day, always recycle, and forever recognize the power of good karma.
Despite the universe totally dumping on me the last few weeks, I keep thinking my good karma-ways will eventually turn things around. But sometimes a girl needs a little support...and a pretty new accessory. Here are some of my favorite harmonious pieces that will certainly add to your style book, if not your cosmic providence.
