2014 Rock 'N' Roll Rumble Champions

Goddamn Draculas for the win (image credit)

And your 2014 Rock 'N' Roll Rumble Champions are Goddamn Draculas!

One of our favorites from the preliminaries, DRAX powered their way through each round with gruff, rigger, some fancy lighting and those signature harmonies, ultimately taking on Petty Morals and Await Rescue during the sold out Finals night and then the crown.

Along with the prestigious title, the first place band will receive a bounty of booty including a radio campaign from Pirate Promotions, full album, logo or poster design by Blake Ink United (makers of the Rumble logo), Mastersuite studio album mastering (up to 12 songs) and $1,4000 cash. See a complete list of prizes at the WZLX website.

Noted as the longest running battle-of-the-bands-style event in the United States, the Rumble has grown to facilitate expectations other than a first place winner. No other series of events would bring together the various camps of indie, rock, punk, alternative, folk, grunge and experimental that would otherwise be annexed to their home base territories scattered about the city. No other showcase would serve as a primary springboard to instant, new music and a secondary window for peer recognition. In a more humble state, the Rumble is a handful of nights where Boston’s most recognizable faces, voices and talents of that year, co-mingle among historic walls and cheap beer. On a more prestigious note, the Rock 'N' Roll Rumble is the reincarnation of original passion, faith and pride that sparked a tradition 35 years ago to support the local music scene and recognize upcoming talent in a way no other local music event could. Huge congratulations to the entire class of 2014. We are proud to witness it, we are proud to be a part of it and we are proud to support it. #RUMBLE35
