DIY Record Player Cabinet

I went to the Fishbone show in Providence on Friday. Yay! Then someone smashed my car window for no other reason than to see glass break. Which blows my mind considering there were several abandoned buildings near us with fully in tacked windows. Screw you Rhode Island, I’m going to build myself a record player cabinet.

I'm positive if I wasn't a car owner, my life would be less stressful

While essentially losing my shit on the drive home from Providence to Boston, I kept thinking of advice someone once told me, “Make something good out of a bad situation.”

Thankfully my gaff tape and car are both springs! Refusing to drive this around, I put myself under house arrest. So what’s girl to do but all the household chores she’s been ignoring for months, like taking the Christmas decorations to the basement. They started to blend into the background, it happens.

While mulling around the dungeon that exists below my living space, I realized I needed a table to put my new record player on. So stir crazy that I didn’t even consider the fail to success ratio of a DIY project, I heaved part of a discarded collection of kitchen cabinets upstairs. Luckily, I just so happened to have had all the ingredients to make sangria so Saturday night worked out pretty well for me.

At no point did I think this was a bad idea
Seven layers of paint later
Tada! Perfect fit record player cabinet
And mini shoe closet

Your DIY project came out awesome though. I want one. Although i don't have a record player.

    1. It's okay. I think you can put more shoes on top in place of a record player.
